Key Words: database, URL
Students will start by taking the web tutorial on accessing web pages- entering URL's and clicking on hyperlinks:
Today we are going to find a National Park to research. We will use one reliable source for our research. We will use a research site from MapQuest. Once you look at the provided list of National Parks, please choose one that has a number of features to promote. Your final research project will be to create an outline map of the park (you will complete this in your classroom). 5th Grade National Parks Research

Research - 4th grade: Research lesson 2
Today we will continue learning more about how to use the interest to do research. We will add a couple steps to our process--such as coming up with a topic of interest, how to narrow it down (sub topic), identifying a focus question, pulling out key words, evaluating web sites, finding information/taking notes, and citing our sources. We will complete the steps together as a class. If we can log-in quickly, stay focused for our lesson, we will have a few minutes to watch the education video based on internet research and play the Search Shark game on BrainPop! You should be an expert by this week on finding Key Words!
